I spend 30 minutes to paint black the building and part of the sky. These buildings are not completely black. Each has different hue to make it more realistic. | This is the face of character at the side. This woman is in working class and I choose to the traditional Vietnam hat to emphasize her job. Usually, women who work in markets or selling food on the street wear this kind of hat. Another character will be added, but this woman is the main "face" of the painting. It took me around 40 minutes to blend colors and paint the hat only. The blending takes lots of time to make sure that it meets the characteristics and specification of a Realist painting. |

This is how the painting looks like on the other side of the deer. I'm painting the sky and Bitexco because they have more space to paint and it's easier to be fixed if I have any mistake. These buildings are opposite to the view of the audience to emphasize the character on the other side. Moreover, the painting would be changed if I have my buildings and character face head to head.
My first step in the process of making the deer parade. I coated 2 layers of white paint on my chosen deer to make sure that when I draw on it, the pictures could be seen easily. Moreover, I would have good control of colors and shading.
Before working painting on the deer, we have to sketch 3 ideas that we want to do that use the style and has the characteristics of the chosen movement. I only make rough sketches without coloring because it takes lots of time for the shading of these 3 sketches. The notation is made after I finish 3 thumbnails to choose the final sketch that I will be painting on my deer. In result, I chose the 2nd sketch because it consists of the irony, style and characteristics of Realism. I think this would be an interesting painting to discover more.
I almost finish with this rendition. It would take me one more period until I get to paint my deer. When I finish this, there would be a comparison and analysis of the characteristics and style of Realism art movement.
